If airports are their core business, then the development of these is the key aspect of their product improvement. When Heathrow's fifth terminal becomes operational it is expected to boost capacity by 30 million passengers per year.

Gatwick is expected to expand to handle around 40 million passengers by 2008.

Stansted currently handles more than 14 million passengers per year. BAA plans to expand capacity here to 25 million passengers by 2010.
