Is this a one-off case or just the tip of the iceberg?

In sport generally, there have been many cases of athletes testing positive for nandrolone. Among the list of those most well-known who have tested positive, but then been cleared, are: Linford Christie (former British sprinter), Mark Richardson (former British 400 metre runner), Christophe Dugarry (former French footballer) and Merlene Ottey (Jamaican sprinter).

In Rusedski's sport, controversy surrounded the ATP (Association of Tennis Players) in 2003, when they admitted that, unknowingly, their own trainers had handed out supplements containing nandrolone. This came to light when in May of that year, seven tennis players tested positive for the drug, with thirty-six others having traces of the substance in their bodies. Rusedski's case relied on the ATP finding that something similar happened to him.
