Wanna Argument?World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada): Wada Happening with Drugs in Sport? What are the effects of steroid use?
Firstly, even though anabolic steroids are derived from a male hormone, men taking the drugs may end up with more female characteristics and a decrease in normal male sexual function. Possible effects on men include the following: lower sperm count, impotence, development of breasts, shrinking of the testicles and problems with urinating. Women, on the other hand, often end up with more male characteristics such as facial hair growth and deepened voice, as well as breast reduction and changes to the menstrual cycle. In the long term, continued use of anabolic steroids could lead to the following physical effects: acne, bloated appearance, liver damage and premature heart problems. Image: drugs box.
