On the issue of small pharmacies, the Consumers' Association said that industry claims that 3000 would go to the wall, was probably an exaggeration, but many local chemists businesses were non-viable anyway. Looking to the future, the OFT said that the traditional chemists would have to concentrate on their own strengths such as the delivery of high standards of service. In this way there would be added benefits to the consumer. |
