03 November 1997 - International [Indonesia] Indonesia cuts trade tariffs and opens its distribution and wholesale sector to foreign investors. The move is the latest measure in a broad deregulation package agreed with the IMF (formally approved on 5 November) totalling around US$34 billion in stand-by loans from neighbours and multilateral institutions.
