The Penn World Data (PWD) is also known as the Summers-Heston data, after the paper by them The Penn World Table (Mark 5): An Expanded Set of International Comparisons, 1950-1988 which appeared in The Quarterly Journal of Economics in May 1991. The latest data should be cited as: Alan Heston, Robert Summers and Bettina Aten, Penn World Table Version 6.1, Center for International Comparisons at the University of Pennsylvania (CICUP), October 2002.
