This resource is designed specifically for Unit 2 of the Edexcel BTEC National qualification, 'The Business of Travel and Tourism', although it will be of relevance to centres following other awarding bodies' programmes.
Aim:
To continue to work through Unit 2 with a session on management structures in the travel and tourism industry.
Learning Objectives:
By participating in this session, students should be able to:
- Learn about the different functions in a business organisation
- Find out more about how management control works in business organisations
- Learn about some of the different ways in which to structure a business
- Find out some of the costs and benefits of different organisational structures
- Apply some of this knowledge to a fictitious travel and tourism business
