Appeal of Tourist Destinations - Lesson Plan
The resource is designed specifically for Unit 4 of the Edexcel BTEC National qualification, 'Tourist Destinations', although it will be of relevance to centres following other awarding bodies' programmes.
Aim:
To continue work on Unit 4 'Tourist Destinations', with a look into the factors that determine the appeal of destinations.
Learning Objectives:
By participating in this lesson students should be able to:
- Explore the reasons for destinations' appeal
- Investigate how these apply to the opening of a major new theme park
- Find out about tourism in a rapidly developing part of the world
- Highlight the way that travel and tourism organisations must plan carefully any entry into a new market
