Key Factors of the European Travel Market - Lesson Plan
This resource is designed specifically for Unit 7 of the Edexcel BTEC National qualification, 'The European Travel Market', although it will be of relevance to centres following other awarding bodies' programmes.
Aim:
To investigate and analyse the European Travel Market (ETM). The lesson will focus on the key factors of the market, what we mean by 'Europe', the main gateways and some key European leisure destinations.
Learning Objectives:
By participating in this lesson students should:
- Understand what is meant by the term 'Europe'
- Know the member states of the European Union (EU)
- Understand the principles behind the Schengen Agreement
- Identify the main gateways used in the ETM
- Identify the major leisure destinations of the ETM
