Key Skills:The following list summarises relevant key skills for this lesson. The list is not exhaustive, in that students will often need to tackle additional activities in order to generate evidence that is sufficient to meet the specification: Communication Level 3 - C3.2 Read and synthesise information from two extended documents about a complex subject. One of these documents should include at least one image.Students working on tasks 2 to 5 will be required to read information from external sources (URLs given in either the Presentation, Activity, or both). These documents contain images and are about complex subjects. These tasks will generate evidence of having read and synthesised information from one document. Communication Level 3 - C3.3 Write two different types of documents about complex subjects. One piece of writing should be an extended document and include at least one image. The task in point 7 above, provides the opportunity to write a 'briefing' document for circulation amongst the whole group. It is about a complex subject, but will not be an extended document. You may choose to guide the students to incorporate an image into their written work. Information Technology Level 3 - IT3.2 Explore, develop and exchange information and derive new information to meet two different purposes. In tackling the Activity, students will explore information from given sources. They will develop written accounts of their own findings from these sources and will exchange information with others in the class. This would generate evidence to meet one of the required two purposes. |
