Part Three: Back Office Department

Introduction

Whilst celebrating New Year's Eve, you spend some time reflecting on all that has happened to you in your time at the Biz/ed Investment Bank. You wonder about the next challenge in the new department. You feel nervous but excited at the same time.

The first day of the New Year at work arrives; it had seemed a long way off but it has crept up on you very quickly. You try to put the nerves to the back of your mind.

When you go into the department, the scene is completely different to what you had experienced in the trading room. Everybody was silent, absorbed in their own work. The difference between the high stress atmosphere of trading and this office could not have been more different.

You find Mark, your new line manager at his desk.

"Welcome to the back office. I hope you learnt a lot in your last department and are ready to do a good job here and learn a lot more!"

And so your job in the department starts...
