Accounting and Finance - Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

MBA courses often focus on macro-level studies and large companies. However, a significant part of the UK economy, and every other major economy around the world, is made up of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). SMEs should be studied as part of MBA courses as they provide good information on the operation of dynamic businesses and the power of entrepreneurship in an economy. This section provides some links to sites developed for the support of these types of businesses.

Global Information Network for SMEs

This site is operated by Japan under the banner of the G8 (at the time of writing, the site had not been updated to include the eighth member, Russia). It provides access to information on SMEs all over the world (not just in G8 countries) so is the place to start to find regional or cross regional information on SMEs anywhere in the world. It also provides links to other SME organisations including the APEC Network for SMEs, the International Bureau of Chambers of Commerce and the UN Economic Commission for Europe. The resources on this site are organised under country of origin banners.
