Human Resource Management - Training and DevelopmentDepartment for Education and Skills (DfES)The aim of the DfES is to "give everyone the chance, through education, training and work, to realise their full potential and thus build an inclusive and fair society and a competitive economy". The DfES has two key goals: an inclusive society, where everyone has an equal chance to achieve their full potential; and a globally competitive UK economy, with successful firms and a fair and efficient labour market. Investors in People (IiP)Investors in People (IiP) is a national quality standard which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people. Investors in People UK was established in 1993 to provide national ownership of the Investors in People National Standard and is responsible for its promotion, quality assurance and development. This role now encompasses protecting the Standard internationally. Investors in People UK works in partnership in the UK with Regional Delivery Partners. It also maintains close links with National Training Organisations (NTOs) and professional and educational institutions. This site gives details on IiP initiatives and provides links to organisations listed above. The site contains a description of national standards in practice and people development. It captures some of the experience of the leading training organisations.
