Help With Using the Reference Section
This section currently contains the following resources:
- Glossary
The glossary has definitions of a wide variety of economics and business terms. Each glossary term will also give any related diagrams, other related glossary items and related sections on Biz/ed. There are two main ways to use the glossary; you can either search it by typing in a search expression, or you can also browse it by letter. You can also try narrowing your searching or browsing by subject area.
- Diagram Bank
Biz/ed have put together many of the main economics and business diagrams in this feature. You may want to use these for a project or coursework assignment, or you may simply want to use them for revision or checking out what they mean. Each diagram has both a brief and detailed explanation of what it shows and links to other relevant diagrams and definitions in the Biz/ed glossary. You can search the diagram bank or follow a theory trail.
- Study Skills
This section is designed to assist students in their general study skills and provide revision help. It covers basic skills such as using the library and numeracy, and progresses to advanced skills such as note making for economists and the use of command words. It includes online revision help which takes place during exam periods.
- Journals Database
The journals database contains details of the contents of a wide variety of journals including Economic Review, Economics Today, Teaching Economics and Business (the journal of the EBEA), Economia and Business Review. The easiest way to use the database is searching by keyword or other search term. You will then be given a list of journal articles that match your request.
- Acronym Finder
If you've ever got muddled about what abbreviations and acronyms stand for, then try searching our acronym finder. Each acronym will also give you any related glossary entries so you can get fuller definitions and meanings. You can either search by using the search box, or you can browse all the acronyms by letter.
- Internet Learning Materials for MBA Students
