Help With Using Learning Materials

The Learning Materials section of Biz/ed contains a large number of primary materials which are aimed at students and educators in both FE and HE. We have created five main sections within Learning Materials of Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Leisure, Sport and Recreation and Travel and Tourism. Each of these sections is broken down into topic areas.

Within each topic area, you will find materials under the following categories: Theory Explanations and Notes; Presentations; Worksheets, Activities and Simulations; Current Topics; and Company Information and Case Studies. The topic sections list resources from across the entire site, e.g. from Current Topics and Virtual Worlds, so that students and educators can access the most relevant materials.

• Accounting
  Resources for accounting information systems, published accounts, financial accounting and management accounting.
• Business Studies
  Resources for objectives and strategy, accounting and finance, marketing, operations management, HRM and external influences.
• Economics
  A full range of resources from markets, wages and firms, through to international and development economics.
• Leisure, Sport and Recreation
  Topics include the leisure and sport industries, marketing, working in leisure, outdoor leisure and fitness training.
• Travel and Tourism
  Topics include the business of travel and tourism, marketing, visitor attractions, air travel and worldwide destinations.

All resources are applicable for Levels 3 and 4 unless otherwise stated. Resources suitable for Levels 1, 2 and 5 are marked where relevant. For further information on this, there is a guide to teaching and learning levels.

In addition, resource pages are available for International Baccalaureate, Nuffield Economics & Business and the Scottish curriculum. These pages map these qualifications through to relevant areas of the main Learning Materials section.
