Planning For Your Biz/ed Workshop: A Guide for RSCs
We have produced this short guide to help event organisers plan for a happy and effective Biz/ed training workshop. The guide outlines what Biz/ed will do to ensure that things go smoothly; it also lists the responsibilities of the event organisers. We look forward to working with you on this event.
Biz/ed's Responsibilities:
- Making travel arrangements to and from your event venue
- Arranging accommodation where necessary, although your help in recommending a suitable hotel / B & B may help
- Planning the content /agenda of the workshop - with the help of the event organiser
- Organising the delivery of Biz/ed promotional materials such as posters and leaflets
- Ensuring that electronic copies of the presentation and workpacks are delivered to the event organiser prior to the event
Event Organiser's Responsibilities:
- Arranging a suitable date and venue for the event with the Biz/ed training officer. Biz/ed should be approached at least six weeks before the date of the event (where possible)
- Informing Biz/ed of the intended audience and numbers expected at the workshop
- Confirming the booking at least three weeks before the date of the workshop. This will help us to secure the lowest cost travel arrangements
- Publicising the event (Biz/ed will provide an agenda for your workshop)
- Ensuring that the venue offers appropriate equipment (such as PCs, Internet access and Data Projector) for the event
- Ensuring that appropriate technical support is provided at the venue
- Arranging refreshments and catering at the venue
- Photocopying of workshop materials for distribution on the day. These materials include presentation notes and workpacks
Please note that if you cancel or postpone your event once it has been confirmed you may be liable to cover the cost of any travel tickets bought in advance of the workshop.
