Decrease in Labour Demand

A decrease in the demand for labour (D1 to D2) will have the effect of reducing the wage rate from WR1 to WR2.

Labour as a factor of production is described as having a derived demand. This is because the demand for labour is derived from the demand for the product. Therefore if the demand for the product falls, the demand for labour will also fall, as in this diagram.
