EVALUATING: INTRODUCTION

How do you measure the value of information you're studying?
What is the information worth?

In reality, your own personal response to data and other information is conditioned by a wide range of influences:

  • education
  • family
  • social circles
  • experience
  • intuition

This section, allied to that on Lie-detecting and in common with the entire site, aims to spur you to re-think the ways in which you receive, use and respond to information.

There are three main areas of this section and you can access them at any time using the navigation bar on the left. The four sections are:

  • Explanation - a brief guide to evaluating data and why we need this skill
  • Illustration - illustrations of the importance of getting hold of good quality data and being able to evaluate it
  • Review - a brief summary of the topics covered in the 'lie-detecting' section and a final case study on detecting codes
