TourCRUNCHING : TOUR

Have a look at the worksheets that are available in each of the four main areas. These vary in terms of topic and complexity. You might link your work to your own interests as well as your course requirements.

Processing

In processing, there are three worksheets examining your skills in:

  • calculating the mean, median and mode and other measures of central tendency from a data series.
  • handling an indexed set of data on currency movements.
  • moving averages.

Analysing

In analysing, there is one large worksheet called Fantastic Plastic. This general activity gets you:

  • analysing the growth of non-cash transactions in the UK economy.
  • examining the apparent demise of cash use in the economy.
  • forecasting ahead to see if and how these trends may continue.

Relating

In relating there are three activities:

  • the first of these examines the link between average earnings and pay settlements in the UK economy.
  • the second looks at correlations in EU aquaculture.
  • lastly, there's a worksheet on the relationship between inflation and unemployment in recent years.

Experimenting

In the worksheets section of experimenting, there are two activities:

  • the first examines the link between growth in the money supply and inflation in the UK.
  • The second investigates how the world recession of 2001 is best handled.
