Monetary Policy - Monetary Policy Committee

Introduction

The MPC is the Monetary Policy Committee. This committee of the Bank was formed in 1997 and is the committee responsible for setting interest rates in the UK. In this section we look more closely at the work of the MPC. We examine the sort of things they have to consider when setting the level of interest rates.
