Resources

The Virtual Developing Country has a variety of resources to help you understand the issues facing developing countries and the particular problems that Zambia faces. The resources are available throughout the site, but are grouped together here for convenience.

Index of Datasets

The Virtual Developing Country has a variety of data to help give a detailed picture of the economic state of Zambia. The data can either be read on screen or downloaded in csv format for analysis in a spreadsheet or other package.

See the data section >>>>

Index of Worksheets

There are a number of worksheets available on each of the topics covered by the Field Trips. These worksheets look at the issues covered and draw together many of the resources in the Virtual Developing Country.

See the worksheets >>>>

Teacher guide

The teacher's guide has listings of all the issues covered in the Virtual Developing Country, all the theories covered in each field trip, a general guide to using the Virtual Developing Country and a listing of all the worksheets available.

See the teacher's guide >>>>

Photo Viewer

There are a considerable number of photos in the Virtual Developing Country and you can see these as you tour round the various Field Trips. Clicking on any of the pictures at any time will open them up in the full size photo viewer. You can then work backwards and forwards through the photo library.

See the photo library >>>>

Index of Maps

To help you understand the geography of Zambia and see the various areas covered by the Field Trips, there are a number of maps. These show the provinces of Zambia, the areas covered by the Field Trips, the transport and social infrastructure and the neighbouring countries to Zambia.

See the Index of Maps >>>>

Glossary

The glossary has definitions of most of the economic and development terms that crop up in the Virtual Developing Country. Each page has any related glossary items at the foot of the page and you can access the definitions directly from there. Alternatively, you can view the whole glossary.
