2005 Updates

The Virtual Developing Country was reviewed and updated by Michael Allan, Head of Economics, International School of Amsterdam.

The updates include:

• Economic History
  This has been updated to include a section on Structural Adjustment in the 2000s
• Political Development
  This section now includes the victory of President Levy Mwanawasa in the 2001 elections and his government's concentration on agricultural reform.
• Foreign Aid
  The theory section has been revised, as has the information on AIDs in Zambia.
• Trade
  The Central Bank of Zambia and Lusaka Railway sections have been revised, and a new worksheet on Aid, Trade and Development has been added.
• Rural Life and Agriculture
  The information on farming in the Monze and Kasame villages has been updated.
