The purpose of this trip is to take you to a number of different locations in Zambia to see the economic problems and opportunities presented by the abundance of wildlife in Zambia and to consider the contribution that this sector makes to the economy of Zambia. As with many other African countries, Zambia has an abundance of wildlife and this presents a number of opportunities for tourism. Much of the tourism is currently focused around Lake Kariba and the Victoria Falls, but there are a number of other opportunities. On this field trip you will visit two National Parks and see the potential they offer for tourism and also visit Livingstone, the former capital of Zambia and now one of the main centres of Zambia's tourist industry.
