Economists - Sir Roy Forbes Harrod (1900-78)

Sir Roy Harrod studied and later worked at Oxford University. He graduated from New College and then worked at Christchurch College teaching from 1922 until 1952. During the war he held various posts in the Prime Minister's office and the Admiralty, but then returned to Oxford to carry on teaching.

In 1952 he was appointed the Nuffield Reader of International Economics. He isn't perhaps an economist who would immediately be thought of as Keynesian, but much of the work he did was based on similar themes and came to similar conclusions. One of his works was even The Life of John Maynard Keynes, not that that in itself makes him Keynesian!
